Artist Statement
As a visual artist, my abstract paintings evoke the essence of place, often inspired by memory rather than specific locations. Each work invites viewers to engage with their own interpretations, fostering a unique visual experience. By focusing on abstraction, I can freely express intention without the constraints of realism. My creative process draws from simple elements in nature—such as the curve of a branch or the movement of clouds—which spark inspiration. Acrylic is my preferred medium, allowing for efficient progress and preventing overworking. My technique involves repeated application and removal of paint using palette knives, sponges, paper towels, and brushes. I approach each painting organically, establishing mood through careful color selection and intuitive responses to the evolving composition. I strive to balance spontaneity and order, frequently pushing my works to the edge of chaos before refining them.
